Mark Havens' photo series, So This Is Goodbye, evokes the deep loss one feels as a result the inevitable passage of time, and the required adopting of new routines. At first glance, the images appear to be paintings or sketches, and when you discover they are real, Haven's has recreated the tricks our memory plays on us in reverse. What seems misty and fantastic is in fact real. It's the perfect marriage of technique and content to bring about emotion. These photos can be seen for the next week at The Slinguff Gallery in Philadelphia.
